WHAt Is LoCKoUt?
• Lockout/tagout (LOTO) is an important safety procedure that involves shutting off the power to
industrial machines or equipment during maintenance or repair. Used properly in conjunction with
a well-planned lockout and permit to work process, the safety padlock helps ensure that employees
will not inadvertently activate a piece of equipment while someone else is working on it.
• 1 employee - 1 padlock - 1 key, this means all employees carry a unique key and no one else’s key
can open another colleague’s safety padlock.
• Padlocks are available in registered and non-registered key configurations.
