MARINE AND OFFSHORE SIGNS
Regulatory MARINE AND OFFSHORE signs are manufactured as self
adhesive stickers or in rigid PVC material. Hartac’s Marine and Offshore Signs
comply with the requirements of IMO. The photoluminescent properties
comply with the requirements of IMO and Din 67510 part 1 and our self
adhesive vinyl signs and poster materials comply with ISO 2831.
Sign types fall into four categories to accommodate the requirements of
various Registration and Certification Authorities.
Where a sign is required that is not included in our catalogue we will be happy
to manufacture to requirements.
SAFETY SIGNS
These signs compliment or expand officially designated signage. The signs
consist of a green background with yellow symbols and legends enclosed in a
yellow border.
DIRECTIONAL SIGNS
SOLAS Chapter II-2 Regulation 28.1.10 requires all safety routes be
photoluminescent, or marked by light, or both. Directional signs consist of
a green background with yellow legends and symbols enclosed in a yellow
border.
IMO publication IMO-981E indicates that all exit signs should comprise a
‘running man’ pictogram, an arrow and the word ‘EXIT’
IMO FIRE CONTROL SIGNS INDEX
Resolution A654 (16) amending Chapter II-2 Regulation 20 requires the use of
specified symbols on fire control plans and booklets. These symbols are often
used to identify actual equipment where no other sign is available. The signs
comprise of a yellow background with red legends and symbols.
FIRE EQUIPMENT SIGNS
SOLAS Chapter II-2 Regulation 28.1.10 requires all fire equipment to be
photoluminescent material or marked by lighting.
The vast majority of fire equipment signs consist of a red legend and symbols
over a yellow background.
